Subject: Remember when... (we used to keep
this site up to date?) |

Well, let me tell
you... being Mrs. Damon Charles Crumley is never boring. In fact, it is very exciting,
busy, invigorating, and challenging. As you Americans probably know, today is Memorial
Day. Damon and I just spent a wonderful weekend at his parent's cabin on Lake Martin in
Alabama. We got back this afternoon and after unpacking the car (which consisted of taking
out the bags, and scroll saw that we acquired, and dropping them on the bed) we came here
to www.crumley.org HQ to update our little web site.
We apologize to all of you who have been waiting and waiting and waiting for news from us
about wedded bliss and those magical pictures, but there are a few small excuses. Ok, I
think that it is a big excuse. As we mentioned in an earlier update, we bought a house. It
is a fixer upper. The first major project that needed to be taken care of was our floors.
I am happy to write that sentence in the past tense. We finished a few weeks ago. We had to
take off two layers of carpet, scrape up a layer of linoleum, and then remove the
adhesive to expose the pine wood floors. It was quite a task. We had to remove the
adhesive inch by inch with scraper in one hand and a heat gun in the other. It
was very, very hard labor. After we finished scrapping, we had to sand using a drum sander
and an edger. Then we got to do the fun part... paint.
Yes, we decided to paint the floors instead of staining. We choose a color named Santa Fe
Brown. Damon thinks that it looks like a cocoa color. The floors look 200% better.
Now we are engaged in two projects at the same time. We have to repair the
house's original double hung windows, as well as build a tool-shed in our backyard. Damon has mastered the art of dismantling
double hung windows and I am starting to scrape off the decades-old paint from the trim around the
windows once he takes it off the wall. After I finish the scraping and he fixes the
windows in the living room we can paint and finish off the living room.
As I am writing this Damon is working on getting our wedding pictures online. He is trying
to get it so that it doesn't take 10 minutes to download when you go to view them.
Marriage is fun. I am enjoying it. We like the pros of having two incomes to support us.
On the day I went back to work after the honeymoon I got a promotion. I
climbed up the
corporate ladder 2 rungs and I am now a general switchboard operator for Blue Cross Blue
Shield of TN. I like it much better than data entry. The pay raise helps
a lot also.
Damon is busy with lots of work. He has been working on various games for different
websites. If you are familiar with the sunscreen Bullfrog®, you may know (or not) that it
is made by Chattem which is a company here in Chattanooga. They make
Gold Bond® powders and lotions, Flex-All®, and I don't know what else. Damon's company,
RSOA, is creating a website for
Chattem. Damon is working on a "Frogger"-type game for the Bullfrog® section.
Well, I will not go into a ton a details about the honeymoon because we are working on a
honeymoon section for the site. I guess that is all for now... That's all for May. |
